PHCS Scholarship Program 2009   

The 2009 HIGH SCHOOL scholarship program consists of seven (7) scholarships: 

$1,000            PHCS Lionel R. Holmes (general purpose)

$1,000            PHCS and Dolores Silva Greenslate UPEC Causa Portuguesa award

 500            Edward Dutra  (general purpose)

 500            Deolinda Dutra (general purpose

 500            Valerie Rose Logan (nursing, medical)

 500            União Portuguêsa do Estado de California, Council 11 (UPEC)

 500            American Portuguese Club of Sacramento

Winners of the scholarship awards for 2009 in the order and amounts listed above were:

There were 38 applicants from Northern California cities.  Judges were PHCS directors Mary Ann Marswhall, Olivia Lage, Lionel Holmes (chairperson) and former director Herb Perry.
