PHCS Scholarship Program 2008

 

2008 SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED

 

     Seven scholarships totaling $4,000 were awarded to northern California high school seniors in PHCS's 2008 competition. Thirty applications were received.

 

 

$1,000 Brice Titus of Ferndale High School, funded by PHCS.

    

$500    Kristen Steves, Escalon High School, funded by PHCS.

    

$500    Justine Gomes, Cloverdale High School, funded by the family of the late Edward   Dutra          

 

$500    Natalie Bastida, Vacaville High School, funded by the family of the late Deolinda Dutra.                     

 

$500    Katherine Mazza, Center High School, Antelope, also Deolinda Dutra family funded.

 

$500    Michelle LaFranchi, Ponderosa High School, Shingle Springs, funded by the family of the late Valerie Rose Logan.

 

$500    Andrew Nevis, Kennedy High School, Sacramento, funded by the American Portuguese Club.


 

These scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who are of Portuguese descent.

Applications were distributed to schools in Northern California on March 1, 2008  Deadline for submittal of completed application to PHCS was April 18, 2008.  Students should request an application from their high school counselor, or may obtain an application by contacting PHCS at
